so last night, I had a series of bizarre dreams, wherein the first of which someone drew me a doujin involving kinky bowties.; The second dream involved spiders hanging down from the ceiling onto my head ;_;

Anyway today was like. Wow.
So SCAD came first block and I found out they have a sequential art major which utterly secured/re-inforced my faith in them. Apparently I made an amusing noise when I first learned of this XD;

Also! Pretty happy about our computer animation project, though we certainly need to upstage Jen and co's dancing Hitler... is it bad that instead of "upstage" my fingers automatically typed "update"? XD; Lora's top 5 most used words.

But the biggest load off of my mind is, Tarver is writing me a rec letter and now I only need to prey upon two other unsuspecting teachers ;_;!! *frolic* Extra motivation to join GSA so Freeland will remember me XD *thwacked*

And in the way of clubs, Chiggy and I went to Chess Club today! (well, she skipped over to Go Club after a while, fehh XD) I know this pretty much re-affirms any lingering doubts as to whether or not I am a nerd, but I DON'T CARE, I LIKE CHESS DAMMIT ._.!! *EPIPHANY OF TRUTH!!!* I did lose both games I played but they were close matches with people I could tell were pretty good. XD

So, I guess my yearly objective is to stay consistent with Chess Club, GSA, and Skills USA. If I can manage to keep up with all those meetings. Uh. BUT IT SHOULD BE OK.

I swore to myself I'd go to bed early today, which I still plan to follow through with, but I have an annoying craving to continue playing Metroid Prime 3. XD I, uh, think I might have murdered the nunchuk yesterday though by thrusting my arm out repeatedly for grabble beam action; I have reached a really annoying part of the game;

Egads, the prospect of the akatsuki cosplay is really exciting. Especially with the way graduation is being put off a bit (or so I heard at the senior meeting today) we might actually be able to make a-kon! *_*

*sigh* I wish I had a natural skill for sewing and that kind of thing. Must I re-voice my strong desire to make an arsenal of FINGER PUPPETS? XD gods yes.

Anyway. I really wish I hadn't missed school Monday; I feel like I must be leagues behind now, since my white days are usually packed.

Today was fun though. During the offblock, after waiting outside on the benches in wonderfully cool overcast weather for Tina's mom to pick her up, Ajay and Becca and I went to H-E-B where I discovered rather to my own surprise that I had money enough to buy myself a box of ritz bitz cheese sandwich crackers (which I did!) Afterwards we walked across the street to Starbucks to eat. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of Starbucks in the future of my 4th block offperiod; (however, I am the worst possible customer, cos I order only water and then take up the comfy chairs)

more on the senior meeting though, we got transcripts and mine was abysmal. I never thought my classrank could seriously be THAT pathetic; then I got some inspirational discourse from Chiggy about how I could do oh so much better if I could only focus.

Letters of recommendation arrgh. I asked Mme Dutarte for one after much internal deliberation, but as I suspected, she said it was too hard for her to do outside of her native language. But, that's ok. Next I guess I'll ask Tarver, and see if I can weasel something out of Dowdle. After that, I seriously have no idea. Evans-Miller doesn't actually hate me but I can't honestly imagine her writing spiels of positive goodness about me or... anyone. But she is my official art teacher so it does make sense at least for me to be asking.

nothing terribly exciting to report here. Sick (in case you didn't know) and probably (actually probably most definitely, since I lacked the willpower to finish the crazy loads of homework) going to stay home tomorrow. I reeeally didn't want to, but around 4 oclock today I resigned myself to the fact that I probably wasn't going to get better between then and tomorrow.

I scribbled TONS of weird crap today that I'm not sure that I still like. I drew a Madde that I liked and that Chiggy judged the epitome of Crap. So, my perception is probably in the bucket today.

Being sick isn't too hot. If I hadn't just taken a shower I'd probably be the most unattractive human being in the world right now. Now I'm a few steps above, say, the clinically obese. (I kid, I kid)

on the other hand, Chiggy and I have had a long interesting chat about all the things she'd do if she were allowed to run wild with my plot lines. XD We make a good albeit bizarre team?? (although right now the only thing she has influence over is TCC)

I AM ANXIOUS AND LAZY I did 46+ terms from my gov homework but I really don't want to go back to working on them... I'm tired, but I'm too stressed about homework to take a nap XD;

Today whilest on a mad search for my graphing calculator, with which to do my AP Stat homework (which I later realized I did not need, but anyway) I stumbled across many old doodles mostly from last year which were just rotting away in my cabinet. And I think my scanner needs to get off its arse once in a while and make a TEAM EFFORT. So here we are

I think it would be appropriate to start off with dumb art doodles done during Bessy and I's C lunch during Junior year

Gmmm. You know a word I don't use much anymore? Cliché. (yes, I pride myself on being able to quickly produce an e-accent aigu via number pad)

Something being cliché really does not have the final say in whether or not it is bad. The thing is, the "clichéd" plots are usually the ones that are done over and over again, BADLY.

And sometimes, people try so hard to deviate from the "cliché" that the final result is a big confusing goo.

A GOO!!

This string of thoughts came from another rant that sprung upon me today. It went along the lines of this: "GODS! IS THERE NO END? I AM TIRED OF THE LOVE INTEREST DYING IN A TERRIBLE TRAGIC ANGSTY WAY. OH MY GOD HE OR SHE WAS HIT BY A TRUCK AND DIED TERRIBLY AND TRAGICALLY" or "THEY DIED SACRIFICING THEMSELVES FOR THEIR ONE TRUE LOVE" or "THEY WERE GANGRAPED THEN TURNED EMO THEN COMMITTED SUICIDE"

But I realized after thinking this that just because this happens in a lot of ridiculous stories, you really can't categorize it as a story damning element. Love interests are allowed to die in terrible tragic angsty ways, and when you least expect it.

Being cliché is a-OK!

It's like on Neopets! (rewind 5 years) I constantly ran into Grarrls that claimed to be timid, girly, reformed, intellectual etc

My Grarrl was an unrefined brute who liked to eat Tonus :)

And the Metroid Prime series is great, despite being about Light and Dark worlds (who can seriously call that innovative? The reviews amaze me)

At the same time, I can only endure so many main characters sobbing their eyes out for their lost love. Who, more often than not, will come back to life somehow anyway.

On a side note, I think I should stop focusing so much on the minute details of TCC and just expect people to trust me that "yes, this otherworldly science makes sense somehow" Yeah, not every little thing makes sense in the crap I read, but I don't stress it. I'm all "yeah, well, you know what you doing mr. author man"

Today after a downright rowdy C-lunch Tina and I went to see Transformers. There was a really cute middle eastern boy (who didn't die omg) *__* I wanted to gobble him up he was so cute XDD *is hence avoided*

and... let's see, that is seriously all I have to say about the movie

wait. I hate how the important/smart female characters in movies (all love interests) are all played by like, model actresses. ; seriously, it bugs me something nutty. People are scarcely ever pretty AND smart, especially to such outrageous degrees. For the male characters, it doesn't usually matter what they look like, so we girls (and gays?) don't even get the same eye candy for our viewing pleasure.

It's also amazing how action movies always seem to put me to sleep. XD I mean, yea, initially it's like OMFG HIS ARM HAS A RETRACTABLE ROBOT KNIFE but a solid 20 minutes of indeterminate crashing and burning gets kinda tiring on the eyes;

SO. More for the rant department - while waiting outside for my mom to arrive, we saw these KIDS. I say kids to mean 10, 12, that kind of age - all tossing around "YEA THAT IS CRAZY SHIT"s and wearing emo clothing. Their peers probably think they're cool but we think they look like dumbasses. Hahaha. ; The "cool" age gets lower every year...

We also played Impossible Creatures, which I STILL NEED TO OWN. My cheetah-shark army got pwned by coyote-whales.

I AM DYING UGGHGHGGH. I cannot STAND being in this state of pseudo-house arrest. My mom works until 8:30 every day and my dad, who stays home randomly from time to time from work without telling anyone why, does everything in his power to avoid having to drive me anywhere. I need a sketchbook for computer animation, which I originally thought would be no problem, since we have lots of spares. Buuut as you would have it, my sister has since unintelligibly scribbled in all of them. And the handle of my computer cabinet door just came off as I pulled on it. ;;

man today was so... lackluster in the "first day of school" category. I remember back in elementary school when we got cupcakes for no reason.

Basically, today can be characterized by a series of bus-related nightmares, threats of heat stroke, and having last year's teachers characterize me as "Michelle who only talks to Anna!" ;; (this was said twice today, at least...)

Computer animation sounds funnn, but Tarver said that for our first project (the 2D cartoon, my dream class assignment) we are going to work in assigned pairs based off of one good artist with one bad one... so Bessy and I can forget about working with each other ' 3' ; I'm probably going to end up with some uncommitted person who doesn't care either way or will be a total distraction. This always happens with my assigned partners in Tarver's class.;

Apparently there are a lot of cool people at lunch!! ..but I couldn't find our table and got confused and ended up eating with some goth girl who was doing suspicious things with a needle. hahaha;

Today thanks to a certain Dr. Nafisi I kept trying to narrate my life in my head today and then stopping to go HEY WHAT

Oh, and offblock was really boring. I started to read a crappy horror novel with some crappy strong heroine, then gave up and went to go bask in the sunshine. XD

I have finished the accursed book!

(yes, this exclamation merits a journal post all in itself...)

well I actually finished it an hour ago, but the sense of jubilation continues on! less jubilation actually, more like "yess, now I can stop wasting time and get on with my life"

This school year (which begins tomorrow - hey, acceptance is the first step to conquering the tragedies which befall one's life) I will have to suffer a number of additional things tacked on to the unpleasantries of School Years Past. I am actually not complaining, I like the added responsibilities, but I will never react kindly to the notion of having to wake up earlier than suits me.

I'm only speaking articulately because I read 300 pages of Book today, thanks.

Well, my aims for the week are simple: do all homework when mandated, do NOT oversleep under any set of circumstances, finish up to p7 (not school related...), start living by healthy sleep schedule.

My dad is taking tons of extra responsibilities at work, because his boss is undergoing cancer treatment and he's sort of second-in-command. He's STILL working, at 11:02 pm. (he left at 2 this afternoon) it's also a Saturday. siiigh.

Would you believe the Trash video on Youtube has over 1000 hits and 5 external links??? but it really is... trash, to sum it up. And half of it is badly-lighted bad dancing. XD

In other news, I really want to watch Great Mouse Detective again. Yeah. That movie which holds a lasting influence on me. GODS I love it, but I haven't seen it in so long! (yes, the movie that first introduced me to that name that you guys love to make fun of) But then again that movie just had fun, memorable names in general. Basil. <3

so, things have been nuts lately. What with birthday shopping, birthday parties, picking up senior-year books and whatnot.

firstly, here is my schedule: (what can I say? I'm a trend-follower)

5- AP Gov/Eco
6- Aquatic Science (yay, my blow off class)
7- AP Stat

So, not too eager about that last forced-upon-me PE credit (whyyy) but it all works out, I only have it the first semester anyway, then it's offblock numero deux pour moi!

Went to Fenna's birthday party @ Austin Karaoke today. Felt lazy, so didn't sing much. Ate lots though. XD And DID get to sing "Come Together" with Chiggy. HERE COME OLD FLAT TOP HE GOT, JOO JOO EYEBALL

I am so close to being done with the drabbles, and yet, the seven that remain seem like endless hurdles :/ I am having a monster of a time with "Light the Way" I just get... nothing. I wrote a stupid introspective one about a football stadium at first, but I think I might rewrite it after all this time.

Speaking of high-school-related things, does anyone want to go see Superbad with me? ...Didn't think so. XD

frightening. Wow. XD; In general, the final Harry Potter book took a giant crap on a lot of fanon. Eh, this book made me like them a lot more anyway so <3

It doesn't matter to me (the crapping on fanon) because I never got into the characters enough to ship them obsessively (I do leisurely enjoy the occasional SBRL XD) it's just... hahaha.

I wouldn't be talking about this in the first place except that the epilogue was so TERRIBLE. XD Otherwise I would have just mentioned, conversationally somewhere in here, "oh yeah and I read harry potter"

It would be just plain silly of me to post about my dream when I've already been on vacation for... oh, a day? Let's see. We toured MICA and now our home base is Aunt Jane's house. She giggles more than any other known human being (she's wonderful) and her house has two stories a loft and a basement; my sister and I are staying in the loft which is apparently haunted; oh joy;

IN ANY CASE. I had a super weird dream. ;;; it was mostly Toby-centric (I never dream about my own characters so that was weird) but I forgot most of that ^^; Except that there was this weird... flakey hetty flashback? ; uh wtf. It was really AU-ish. And there was like, no Miller at all. XD (except for mentions of his boyfriend-status during the flashback?)

anyway at one point it incorporated my desire to go gusher-shopping yesterday, so there was me (yeah, the focus of the dream shifted to me temporarily. who knows, maybe I was him, it was first person so who knows) and I was grocery shopping, when suddenly, Third Hokage appeared all secret and gave me some super!skittles that would give me strength for fighting Orochimaru (wtffff) but I had to hide them from him or it would mean ultimate doom XD;; (for some reason I ended up sharing them with Orochi later anyway; to hide the fact that they were special? I dunno. In retrospect, that was rather dumb of the dream-me)

GGHGHG I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. THIS FACKING FANFIC. It started off really good but instead of keeping the focus on one or two or three or even FOUR pairings it proceeded to introduce a shitload of OCs and then strategically pair them off with other characters >___< and then produce a stream MORE of random pairings amongst the actual characters of the series. gaghaghaghg

LEAVE THE SANDIES ALONE DAMMIT.

I put up with one weird "out of the blue" pairing but this is just unacceptable >_<

this is why I don't read long fics XD;

they turn into giant twisted trees full of impossibly complicated plot bunnies. I like one-shots because it's easy to tell if they will be good or not, and with a good one-shot the ending will ALWAYS be SATISFYING because there won't be anything left after it.

also with a one-shot there isn't much room for other pairings. If I want NEJI/LEE I'll seek it out myself thankyou very much XD; and this isn't even ABOUT that. This is about all the weird pairings AFTER that.

I am now, as of this moment, obsessed with not one but TWO naruto pairings. and one of them is HET *room filled with gasps!* although it's def. not normal het and I'd probably still get kicked for it; *room settles*

anywho, I am on ch 156. Naruto's frog wallet is so freaking cute. So glad I bought one at a-kon a few years back (at the time just thinking it was some random frog)
